We all users of WordPress have raised by using Classic Editors. Using Classic Editor was our habit because it was very easy to understand and use. It consists of content field, old title field, for insertion of shortcodes filed were there and more. On the other side status visibility etc was the page option for disposal.
Unexpectedly we were facing some bigger changes. At first sight, the WordPress Gutenberg Editor was looking totally different from the previous editor. We were unable to find the all options, options to write the text, title, etc. All the changes were unsorted.
But the fact changes are made for our good change. With major changes, new improvements are made. The main purpose of creating Gutenberg was to provide an easier environment for WordPress users to work. And this is worth it if you use Gutenberg.
The very first look
At first, you will find the Gutenberg editor is totally new to all of us. We might have never seen or used something like this before. But if you see its features more closely, you will find that it is really easy to use.
The first thing that you will be concentrate on will be that no seperate field is provided for the title. Now you have been provided with the single area where the parts will be shown as a continuum.
Gutenberg is all about Blocks?
Yes, Gutenberg is established on the blocks. The main motto of this was to make sure its continuity is the same as the creation of classic content elements. This method ensures the stability, security, and scalability of your website.
But what do you mean by blocks? in simple you can say that the old sign edit fields are now replaced with the group of new and individual blocks. A block can contain any type of content including videos, images, text, table, buttons, widgets, etc.
Now let us check that in WordPress Gutenberg how you can add these blocks. The WordPress community has separated them into different categories for getting things easier and convenient. You can use the block name or browse the categories to use it. If you are known to it you just have to type the name.
Different ways are defined to add blocks. In top left of the editor, you just have to click on plus sign.
The undo and redo option is accessible just next to the plus sign
The most helpful feature that gutenberg provides is a info button, which will show the our post’s content structure. It will display the total number of blocks, words, paragraphs, heading, etc we have in post. Thus it will help to focus on our content structure.
The default empty block will be there before insertion of any content. It is similar to the title block.
The very important thing that was not available before is Block Navigation. The blocks structure will be displayed on the page.
For example in the block navigation dropdown, you just have to click on specific paragraph rather than the scrolling all content to modify the content in your post paragraph.
After this we have an option for save draft to save the changes made in the blocks.
The look of workspace can be changed by clicking on vertical dots in top right corner. This will take you to options menu and more tools. Now you can customize the workspace and elements. Plus you have an option to choose editors from code editor or visual editor.
Some extra options will be provided along with the shortcuts.
