Successful Web Designing

A successful web design will meet its intended function by communicating about the brand whilst engaging with the visitor. There are several factors that make a web design look perfect to the eyes of the visitor. These factors are uniformity, dexterity, colors, fonts, images and functionality.

A well-designed website helps build credibility, trust and can further guide visitors to convert into customers. To achieve all of this, a great user experience makes your website look optimized for usability and functionality.

Below are a few of the guidelines that our web design company wants to share with you.

1. Website Intention

When you build your website, ensure you are accommodating according to the needs of the visitors. Your website should have a purpose on all of its pages which will help the visitor interact with what you offer. Also, decide what is the purpose of your website. There are many types of websites to choose from, but you need to choose the perfect website from among all. Also, there are many intentions that each website serves, but all the websites have the same core purpose:

  • Expressing the expertise
  • Establish reputation
  • Increasing Leads
  • Sales and Customer Care

2. Lucidity

It is always good to go with simplicity when considering the functionality and usability of your website. Some of the best ways to achieve lucid designs is to focus more on three of the factors we mentioned earlier. If you don’t remember them, don’t scroll back to the top. We will discuss it again.

The first factor for a lucid design is using colors that can communicate messages and bring to mind the emotional responses. Ensure that you are using a color palette that fits well with your brand. The rule of thumb is that using three colors is good enough, but sometimes you might want more. That is why we suggest you limit your color selection to 5 colors.

Another factor that helps is fonts. Fonts have an important role to play with web designing. It helps to grab the attention of the visitor as it works as the visual interpretation of the brand. Try to limit the number to 3 different font faces.

We can consider the third factor another factor that helps visual aspects of the website. It is all about imagery. It includes all images, illustrations, videos and even animations. Most of the information that a visitor would grasp from your website would be visual. This could also mean a first impression and it is important to use high quality images. This-would form a feeling of reliability and professionalism.

3. Navigation

Navigation is for helping your visitors to explore throughout your website. Your navigation should be such that visitors can reach any corner of your website and still go back without using the back button. Your visitors should not feel lost when they are exploring your website. The simple thing about navigation is keeping it simple. The more complicated the navigation becomes, the more likely your visitors can get confused and find whatever they need elsewhere.

4. Layout

A well-designed layout makes it a good web design. Most of the websites you come across are always blocks with columns and rows. This means that having them cluttered can only cost you confused visitors, which leads to decreased incoming visitors. To fix this problem of cluttering, try to use the F-based pattern. An eye-tracking study has revealed that most of the people see the top and left area of the screen as they scroll.

5. Visual Hierarchy

Visual hierarchy is the arrangement of the elements you used in an order of its importance. The hierarchy is done based on the size of fonts, colors, images, contrasts, white space and style. The most important function of the visual hierarchy is to establish the crucial point. This shows the visitors the information they are searching for.

6. Content

A website should have both impressive design and content. A content with interesting language can attract and influence visitors to convert into customers. A good content describes much about the product or service offered and then converts into purchase.

7. Grid-based Layout

A grid based layout helps to organize your content which actually keeps your design structured. When you use grids, many elements get aligned in your webpage and hence make your page look clean. It also creates clean looking columns and rows with lesser clutter throughout your page. It also adds up to your user experience adding a feel of balances and order across the page.

8. Load Time

One of the primary things about your website is its load time. A visitor to your website can wait only for an average time of 2-3 seconds. If your website cannot load within this time, you might lose most of your potential customers. To ensure your page loads quickly, your web design should comprise images that aren’t too big, minify back-end codes, use HTML more and buy hosting services that offer good speeds. But, always ensure you optimize your images to a lower size as images actually hinder load speed.

9. Mobile Friendly

With more and more people using phones across the globe, it is good to ensure your web design is responsive across many screen sizes. Always ensure that your website is designed to work across any device and adjust according to the device screen size.
